The history of the Clement Cemetery was documented by Catherine Paterson, Doctor of Philosophy at McMaster University. Her research uncovered the names of at least 9 people known to be buried in the graveyard.

Col. Joseph Clement died January 7, 1867 at the age of 76 and is buried in Clement Cemetery.
Clement Cemetery is an open field, below which lie the bodies of 9 known Canadian settlers and their headstones.
The land is now owned by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and governed by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario.
